Report: Cairo expects Aeroflot to start flights from Feb 3
CAIRO, Jan 16 (PRIME) -- The international airport of Cairo has received a request by Russian airline Aeroflot to carry two flights a week starting from February 3, newspaper Al-Youm Al-Sabaa reported late Monday, citing sources in the airport.
According to the newspaper, Aeroflot has already received a state permit and can carry flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Egypt Air plans to carry three flights a week: on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The source said that there is no official flight schedule yet.
On December 15, Russia and Egypt signed an agreement on security in Egyptian airports that will allow the two countries to restart air travel between Moscow and Cairo suspended in 2015 after a crash of a Russian plane over the Sinai Peninsula.
